Yosemite

It was a beautiful day in Yosemite. Sunny, 86 degrees and crowded. After getting the Junior Ranger booklets for Jonah and Isaac, we headed over to the trails to Vernal Falls. It was a mile and a half to the falls, uphill all the way. The last bit was steps carved into the rock and showered by mist from the falls.

The mist was refreshing, but it made the steps kind of slippery, and they were narrow and steep and there was no guard rail. My sister was hoofing it up with a baby strapped to her chest and I was helping my 5-year-old niece. I was a little nervous about the climb.

So we decided to turn back after we got nice and wet and all got back down safely, which was great. Since three people died falling over Vernal Falls a couple weeks ago and their bodies still haven't been found.

Actual Yosemite is so much more stunning than the pictures make it out to be. I did more looking than photographing today.

p.s. Jonah and Isaac are now Junior Rangers for Yosemite too!
