I Love Oregon

We went camping this weekend at Trillium Lake. It was amazingly beautiful. We had s'mores (for breakfast) and the boys "practiced" fishing (i.e. they did not catch any fish). Overall, we had a great time. I only got 3 mosquito bites (that I know of.)

How beautiful and picturesque! I love that you had smores for breakfast-we'll have to try that sometime Ü. Thank you so much for your comments on my blog. I'm beginning to love Oregon and I haven't even been there! I think about it every day! That's my first choice of places to move, but we'll see how things pan out. My husband takes the MCAT this coming Spring, and then will apply. Have you been to any of the Twilight filming areas? Have you been to Forks? (just curious). You're such a good writer-keep it up, I enjoy your blog!

I did not go to any of the Twilight filming spots while they were filming. I guess I'm just not a true fan :). Actually, it was kind of cold and rainy while they were filming, so I just kept up to date with all the Edward sightings thanks to my sister in law's daily updates and links to TwilightMoms.com. (She was staying on top of things from Ohio).

I don't know if you saw my post on our trip to the Gorge, though. I have a couple of links to Twilight Movie videos where they show filming at Multnomah Falls (not sure what Twilight scene happens at a waterfall) which we visited. We were close to the View Point Inn where they filmed the prom scene and Oxbow Regional park where I guess the filmed the meadow scene (?).

I haven't been to Forks, BUT we did live for about 2 years on San Juan Island, which if you look at a map, you will see that it is right across from the Olympic Peninsula. From our window at night we could see the lights of Port Angeles and a few other coast towns. So, that was cool. Probably the best view from a house that we will ever have.

Good luck with moving to Oregon!

I've x-country skied here in the winter but have never been here in the summer! It looks beautiful in the summer too! Looks like you had a great time! What did you do while the kids "practiced" fishing?

What did I do while the kids fished? Well, for a while I took pictures, but soon after that there were tangled lines to untangle and hooks that got caught on something underwater that needed to be unhooked, and even a hook that got caught high up in a tree. It was a lot of work!
