Design Challenge

Let me introduce you to our TV antenna. Robert made it with instructions from the Internet using a piece of wood and some hangers. Since we probably watch about 1 hour of television a day, I don't care that it's not fancy. However, I would prefer not to have to look at it.

As you can see in the picture below, the TV antenna currently rests on the fireplace mantle. My job will be to find a place to hide the antenna that still allows our TV to get reception or to find a way to integrate the antenna into our decor. (Don't worry, there is decor. It's just all over the floor.)

I love my do-it-yourself husband. Sometimes I wish he cared more about aesthetics.

So the big question is, does it actually work? Has it made a major improvement? I am thinking that maybe for Christmas we could all chip in and get you a converter box :)

Yes, it works. And a converter box will not help. Even with the converter box you still need an antenna. Don't ask me how it works, you just do. We hardly get any channels, but I just don't care. I watch what I want on my computer and use the TV to catch up on the news and weather while I make dinner. And the kids use it for Wii.

That is HILARIOUS! :) Don't you love that the government-issued/forced converter boxes don't even do what they are supposed to?! We have to fiddle with the (HD) antennae with the few channels that actually come in, and the rest of the channels are spotty at best. Lovely.

...Anyway, at least it's not a foil-wrapped hanger...it could look kind of artsy to someone....
