I remember liking the book and having a great discussion about Charity. Some men in my book club very passionately disliked her and felt Sid was abused by her.<br /><br />I felt like he chose the relationship for a reason. Perhaps without her he would flail about in life and he needed the direction she supplied.<br /><br />Also, we only see the relationship from a single outside perspective. What if the story was written from Sid's perspective, or Charity's?
